WORCESTER, Mass.- Unations II opened their season in dominant fashion with a 3–0 victory over New England Combine on Saturday evening at Morse Field, securing an emphatic win in the Worcester derby.
The home side wasted no time setting the tone, with Joseph Salmon finding the back of the net just six minutes into the match to give Unations II an early advantage. The quick start energized the hosts, who controlled possession and dictated play throughout much of the first half.
Despite continued pressure, the score remained 1–0 heading into halftime as New England Combine worked to stay within reach. However, Unations II maintained their composure and defensive organization, limiting chances and protecting their lead.
The breakthrough in the second half came from Darry Augustin, who marked his Unations debut in style with a goal in the 75th minute to double the advantage. The late surge continued as Jean Paul Boderbe added a third in the 84th minute, sealing an emphatic victory for the home side.
Strong defensive play ensured a clean sheet, capping off a complete performance on both ends of the pitch. Unations II’s control, discipline, and clinical finishing proved too much for their local rivals.
Unations II will now turn their attention to their next fixture, traveling to face Boston Emeralds on Sunday, April 12 at 6:15 p.m. at Boston College High School Stadium in Boston MA. The match will mark the first meeting between the sides, with Boston Emeralds entering the league this season.
